Tun Dr Mahathir Kecam Kehadiran Tony Blair

Liar war criminal, Tony Blair has no right to speak here on "rule of law" Liar war criminal, Tony Blair was invited by the University Malaya Faculty of Law to deliver a lecture tomorrow, August 1st at the Mandarin Oriental in conjunction with the 22nd Sultan Azlan Shah Law Lecture.

Ironically, the former British Prime Minister, who with President George W Bush Jr, responsible for the murder of 500,000 children in the invasion of Iraq will be delivering a lecture on the "Rule of Law". Press release by the International and Corporate Relations Office, University of Malaya falsely tribute him as Middle East representative for United Nations, the United States, Russia and the European Union to help the Palestinian people prepare for statehood as part of the international community's effort to secure peace.

The Perdana Global Peace Organisation (PGPO) held a press conference today at the Petronas Tower. Speaking on behalf of the PGPO, Tun Dr Mahathir questioned the University of Malaya and the Government for playing host to war criminal Tony Blair. He reminded that 6 years ago, Tony Blair told a lie to the British people and Parliament to justify supporting the American invasion of Iraq.

He described Iraq as posseing weapon of mass destruction (WMD) and having nuclear warhead pointed towards Britain. It is later confirmed that there was no WMD. The three month "shock and awe" invasion plan to capture Saddam Hussein and bringing peace and democrasy to Iraq has today ended up becoming a six years of endless fighting, poverty, starvation and depravation to the people of Iraq. Peace and democrasy is far from achieved. The invasion has killed more life than the alleged atrocities of Saddam Hussein.

Dr Mahathir described the superpower as inhuman and heartless. He reminded of Madeliene Albright response when asked if the 500,000 killed was worthy it. She said it is difficult but it is alright. He expressed his disgust to allow liar war criminal Tony Blair to be allowed to speak on "rule of law" when his criminal hands are bloodied by the one million innocent lifes killed in Iraq. Malaysia should not have played host to a man who has killed more than the recently captured war criminal Radovan Karadzic and former dictator Saddam Hussein.

Dato Mukhriz expressed the irony of Malaysia as a Muslim country playing host to Blair when British NGOs are actively protesting against their Government's false pretense of participating in the invasion of Muslim countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and seeking Blair to be tried for war crimes. He called on the public to actively participate to criminalise war or war will one day be at our footstep. Matthias Chang informed that the International Court of Crime (ICC) issued a warrant for war crimes on the President of Sudan, a country not a signatory to the ICC. However, ICC did not issue one for President Bush and former PM Blair.

Dato Mukhriz added that suspecetd war criminals can be arrested. He described occasions in Britain where police were waiting to arrest two war crime suspect Israeli landing on Heathrow Airport. In New Zealand, University students were pursuing to undertake a citizen arrrest of US Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice. Killing people is a crime. The decision to call for a war that affect many life is done by a few. Thus those pursuing war should hereby be called a criminal.
